There are many different pump types available. So why do we concentrate on peristaltic pumps?
Many of the products which are dosed into water are aggressive (chlorine, acid, hydrogen peroxide etc.), and some need protection (vaccines). So, protecting the pump from the product, and protecting the product from previously dosed liquids is highly desirable.
A peristaltic pump keeps the dosed product inside the pump tube. That tube is then squeezed by a roller assembly to push the product into the water line. There is therefore no contact between the product and pump.
